St Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday March 17, 2018 – 5th Avenue
What better way to celebrate St Patrick’s Day than by marching with fellow “Fighting Irish” in the St Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th. This year, our group will be marching in the parade with the Lavender and Green Alliance, an LGBT group that celebrates being Irish and Gay!!
Come and march with fellow LGBT Domers and Friends as part of the larger LGBT Irish community. And don’t forget to wear your favorite ND sweatshirt!!
After the parade, we will find a fun watering hole to continue the day’s festivities.
- Everyone marching MUST REGISTER AHEAD OF TIME and as soon as possible, as space is limited. No one will be allowed to march unless they are pre-registered.
- To register, go to Lavender and Green Parade Registration. (Put in the comments you are with the ND LGBT Alumni group) Once you’ve completed the registration, email John Flanagan at email@example.com.
- The parade kicks off at 11:00am at 44th St and goes up 5th Ave to 79th (parade route). All participants will be asked to arrive prior to the parade start at a TBD time and location.
- Regardless of group, all individuals must follow strict guidelines regarding participation.
The Lavender and Green Alliance were the first LGBT group allowed to March in the official St Patrick’s Day parade starting in 2016. In recognition of this milestone, Mayor Bill de Blasio walked with the group to celebrate.
